How can I maintain a beautiful garden without spending too much time on it?

I suggest using the ancient method of the bushmen of Australia: find a place near a body of water that is shallow. Make sure the water laps inland in the spring when the water flow from the hills increases and slowly retreats in the hot summer when dry season comes. Plant seeds in the mud at random in the spring and go hunting. When you come back the garden will be full of legumes and fruits of all kinds to pick for your family and no weeding is needed or irrigation or anything. This fed our kind all over the world for thousands of years with little work needed, from the Nile valley to South America to Asia
